Nov. 29, 2024 (EIRNS)—The White House on Nov. 28 issued a statement in the name of President Joe Biden denouncing Russia’s “horrific” attacks on Ukraine earlier that day, using terms of self-righteous insanity. Biden pledged to continue “prioritizing air defense exports” to Ukraine, from the U.S.. The sense of the message is that Russia has no reason but “aggression” for their actions.

This transition, and the next six weeks, is as unlike any other in American history. The mere fact that thermonuclear war is seen as a real possibility by the majority of American citizens, and that there is no clearly responsible authority in the White House that is accountable to the population, makes this situation completely unique.

Nov. 27, 2024 (EIRNS)—So far, the lunatics still running the asylum at the State Department, and its spiritual headquarters at London’s Chatham House, have flunked “Reality 101,” and are proceeding with haste to the plains of Armageddon. While Russia has, with its highly effective Nov. 21 deployment of the IRBM “Oreshnik” hypersonic missile, warned NATO against further escalation in the clearest possible way, as former Israeli diplomat and Deputy Prime Minister Abba Eban once said to the late economist and statesman, Lyndon LaRouche, “Never underestimate the factor of insanity in politics.”

In such a moment as we find ourselves, with the suffering nearly unbearable to contemplate in Gaza, which is perhaps the most disturbing because of the gleeful cruelty with which the torture and genocide is imposed; but also in Haiti, South Sudan, and even in Ukraine, where men are being kidnapped to be used as cannon fodder in the dying Empire’s war – a war on the brink of crossing the threshold into a land of no return – one might ask, “Why should we pause to give thanks?”

Nov. 26, 2024 (EIRNS)—When Russia fired its new hypersonic intermediate-range ballistic missile on Nov. 21, decimating a Ukrainian weapons depot in Dnipro, it was effectively a message to the West that Russia was not playing around. The attack came after the United States no later than Nov. 17 had lifted restrictions on Ukraine’s use of long-range missiles to strike Russia—and Ukraine’s ensuing use of such missiles—crossing a red line which put the U.S. in direct, open conflict with Russia. The message should have been clear: further escalation means all options are now on the table.

Nov. 25, 2024 (EIRNS)—Four days have passed since Russia delivered their unexpected answer to the West’s latest escalation. The launching of U.S. ATACMS missiles, targeted and guided by U.S. forces, into undisputed Russian territory last week was supposed to be part of a pre-rigged game, where the geopoliticians have calculated that they can take the next step in degrading and breaking Russia. After all, the reasoning goes, we can keep ratcheting up the pressure on Russia and they would never go to a nuclear exchange, cause they would lose everything. But Russia unleashed not a nuclear bomb, but a new hypersonic missile with remarkable precision, that indeed could have carried a nuclear bomb.
