In the 250th year of America’s birth, independent citizens, acting in the image of American Secretary of State and later President John Quincy Adams, are resurrecting “American System” diplomacy from the waste bin into which the Trump, Biden, Obama and Bush Administrations have thrown it since “9/11.” This morning, forces of the LaRouche Organization directly spoke with scores and possibly hundreds of the employees and diplomats of the United Nations. They distributed 250-plus copies of the statement, “TO THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE UNITED NATIONS: A POLICY TO BRING PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT TO SOUTHWEST ASIA” composed by Schiller Institute Founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche.

This document, composed immediately following last Friday’s Executive Intelligence Review Roundtable, “The Iran War and the 'Controlled Disintegration' of the World Economy” reported the results of deliberations among a panel that featured Helga Zepp-LaRouche, former Prime Minister of Türkiye Ahmet Davutoğlu, Iranian Ambassador to Mexico Abolfazl Pasandideh, and former UN Special Rapporteur for Palestine Richard Falk, among others. The statement reports that in addition to a four-point proposal for advancing the cause of peace in Southwest Asia proposed at the EIR roundtable by Prof. Davutoğlu, Zepp-LaRouche suggested an expansion of his proposals with “an integrated “Extended Oasis Plan,” in which a program for "reversing the desertification of Southwest Asia, modelled on China’s transformation of Xinjiang province and its northwest deserts, is combined with the extension of development corridors throughout Southwest Asia.” This was readily agreed upon by the participants.

The intent of today’s distribution at the United Nations was to intersect the upcoming May 26 session at the United Nations, “Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter and Strengthening the UN-Centered International System,” sponsored by the United Nations Security Council’s rotating Chairman, the People's Republic of China. It was also the case however, that today, the Security Council held a briefing titled “The Situation in the Middle East, Including the Palestinian Question.”

Trump’s Board of Peace delivered a 20-point report about disarming Hamas, but offered nothing about peace through economic development. In other words, they offered no solution whatsoever. Israel’s brutal ongoing prosecution of the war has done nothing to actually defeat Hamas, defeat Hezbollah, or make Israel, or anyone else safer. Instead, that task has been taken up by the Schiller Institute, the International Peace Coalition, and independent American candidates for public office, such as Presidential candidate Diane Sare and Congressional candidate Jose Vega, who this week successfully achieved ballot status as both an Independent and a Democratic Party candidate for Congress in the Bronx’s 15th Congressional district.

Tonight, Bill Jones will discuss the “polyphonic transition” seen in the Trump-Xi and Xi-Putin meetings held in Beijing, the shift in the world from the Atlantic and Europe to the Pacific and the US/China/Russia sphere, and how an efficient review of the true, but unknown and untold history of American System diplomacy in China and Russia, conducted by the Lincoln, Grant and Roosevelt Administrations provides a guide as to how independent citizens mindful of our nation’s 250th anniversary might make American diplomacy great again, in the footsteps of John Quincy Adams.
