Diane Sare Gives Interview to RT on Trump’s ‘Nuclear Test Resumption’ Policy
Oct. 31, 2025 (EIRNS)—On Oct. 31, former U.S. Senate candidate Diane Sare was interviewed on an RT live news program regarding President Trump’s announcement of plans to resume nuclear bomb tests after a 33-year moratorium on such activity. RT played a short clip of War Secretary Pete Hegseth saying that resuming testing will “make us safer,” and asked Sare for her thoughts.
Sare, who was introduced as a former candidate and President of The LaRouche Organization (sic), said that of course Hegseth’s comment was absurd, as was the idea that we should be testing nuclear weapons.
After some back and forth, Sare said: "If you don’t mind, I’d like to take this opportunity to set the record straight for my fellow Americans and others regarding the proposed ‘Golden Dome,’ which won’t work and is not the same thing as the Strategic Defense Initiative, which was Lyndon laRouche’s program, and for which he was Reagan’s back-channel to the Soviet Union.
“LaRouche’s SDI was a technology-sharing proposal, to develop the technology jointly with the Soviet Union, in order to render nuclear weapons ‘impotent and obsolete,’ by superseding them with a more advanced technology. I think President Putin is thinking along these lines, when he announced the Oreshnik missile, as superseding the need for nuclear weapons, and I would like to propose that it would be much more productive to collaborate on joint ventures, such as the Bering Strait Tunnel, or defense of the earth from asteroids, which could wipe all of us out.”
The host commented, “I hope the Americans will listen to you,” and the interview ended.
