Schlanger Receives Prestigious International Journalism Award
by Fabiola Ramírez
On Friday, March 20th, the awards ceremony for the 2026 National and International Journalism Competition of the Mexican Journalists' Club was held. This year, the first International Journalism Prize was awarded to Harley Schlangerof Executive Intelligence Review, for his analysis of current international affairs. In 2022, the prize was awarded to Helga Zepp-LaRouche of the Schiller Institute for promoting freedom of expression within academia, for her contribution to historical and geopolitical analysis to understand global changes using a multi-methods approach with critical thinking, alerting the public to the consequences of violence and imbalances that affect the international community and world peace. In 2024, the prize was awarded to Dennis Small, also of EIR, for his international work for peace.
The Journalists' Club, headed by Celeste Sáenz, is one of the last bastions of nationalism in Mexico. The awards ceremony followed the protocol of presenting honors to the flag with an escort from the Mexican Navy and singing the national anthem. In her opening remarks, the club president stated: "Everyone is welcome to this temple of freedom of expression. We have seen firsthand that propaganda is not news; it is so dangerous that it costs lives. Hence the importance of all of you, for the integrity of your work, which is dignified and adheres to true journalism. We can see the example of cover-ups in the depraved Epstein class, whose actions were unimaginable until they were exposed. Our responsibility as journalists and as human beings is not to be complicit, etc." And to the cries of "Long live the Journalists' Club! Long live freedom of expression! Long live respect for the rights of others! Long live sovereignty around the world! Long live a free, brave, and sovereign Mexico!" the awards ceremony began.
Schlanger, who was unable to attend the ceremony, sent a letter saying: "I am grateful for the honor bestowed upon me, and although I wish I could attend the ceremony, I am unable to do so. But please rest assured that I will continue my journalistic work with a deep sense of responsibility to live up to the standards of journalism that your club represents. I send you warm regards from Potsdam, Germany."
In addition to his regular journalistic contributions to the EIR, Harley also serves as President of The LaRouche Organization. He was one of the principle authors of this year's bombshell report on the truth about the "Epstein Class" publlished by the EIR, "The Empire Has No Clothes."
